SIX QUESTIONS

TO NADJA MINDER

"Trust the process

This is his leitmotif, his favourite quote.

Nadja Minder already has all the attributes of the greatest athletes. Her career path makes sense and is in line with her convictions: progress by having fun, and the rest will follow. Every day she tries to improve by focusing on herself, her horses and her goals.

Admiring her wisdom, determination and results, it is with pride that the competition organisers will see her on theInstitut Équestre National d’Avenches. Nadja will start the FEI Eventing Nations Cup in a fortnight time. Grateful, lucid and motivated, the rider from Illnau, near Zürich, is ready to attack in the 3* and to ensure good performances in the three 4* disciplines.

"Kabuga is very brave with a huge warrior's heart and yet she has an incredibly sweet character.

NADJA MINDER

Nadja, which horses will you ride in Avenches?

Kabuga, my sixteen year old thoroughbred mare is the most experienced. Victoryhope Treille, a thirteen year old French gelding and Top Jobs Jalisco, a ten year old Polish gelding, owned by Peter Attinger. And finally, Mathurin v/d Vogelzang, owned by Therese and Hugues Lüdi, an eleven-year-old Belgian horse.

How would you describe the character of your lead horse, Kabuga?

My little mare is very brave with a huge warrior heart. A real athlete. She doesn't let herself be turned away from anything easily and yet she has an incredibly gentle character.

How is your relationship?

Kabuga came to me in 2011, after having been a racehorse. She even started three races at the Avenches racetrack. In 2017, I took part in my first European Junior Championship with her. She always gave me confidence. Today, we know each other by heart, I still want to have a lot of fun with her and on this cross-country track that we both love. I am very proud of her.

What is the quote that inspires you on a daily basis and why?

"I want to focus on myself and not being stress every day trying to be better than others. One thing at a time.

What is your greatest achievement on horseback?

The victory in the Elite Nations Cup in Pratoni and the victory in the 4*-long in Baborowko this May with Toblerone.

What is your objective for this competition in Avenches?

Perform well in every discipline in the 4* and in the 3*: attack!
